Singh! In one fell swoop you've buried forever every single cliche about Dickinson's poetry, and given her words new life. Out of the intellectual essay, out of the close-reading workshop and into the world of modern, sensory delight. Woohoo!! I wish I was a choreographer. The profile of the woman is a gutsy move, and the profiles of waving-armed fans from around 3:00 is brilliant. What does the sign at the end mean?
Glad you found a modern feel here. I purposely didn’t try to approach ED through a Western classical musical form.
The sign at the end is Aum, the alpha and omega inclusive of the Waking, Sleeping, Dream and transcendental states.
Is the music based on classic Sikh tunes? The chanting style....
Not really. It was pretty much a spontaneous thing I created on listening to a background loop which I harmonised to. To be honest I need to do the first part again.
Australian-born I live and write between Australia, Singapore and India.
